THG is a YouTuber, streamer, and strategy gamer, best known for playing grognard wargames like Gary Grigsby’s War in the Pacific as well as timeless classics such as Sid Meier’s Gettysburg. He co-founded the Single Malt Strategy podcast in 2016 with the intent of bringing a show dedicated to strategy and wargaming without getting distracted by more mainstream or blended interests: a single malt approach to strategy games. THG’s favorite settings in wargaming are the American Civil War and the Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II. He hails from Wisconsin and is known for the most grounded and reasonable takes on the podcast.

Full-time host of Single Malt Strategy alongside The Historical Gamer since 2021. TortugaPower is a YouTuber and strategy gamer with a penchant for min-maxing, partially to see “number go up” but also out of love for understanding systems: how they work, and how to get the most from what a game gives you. When he’s not working on his own game development project, he’s playing a wide variety of titles, from niche wargames like Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa, to classics like Aerobiz Supersonic, to 4X games like Distant Worlds. Tortuga is as comfortable as a turtle in his shell anytime there’s a meaty experience to dig into.

Finn is not a YouTuber or a streamer, unlike his friends on the podcast. His gaming interests include city builders, historical strategy games, and first-person shooters. With a main historical interest in the Imperial Japanese Navy, he’s visited numerous locations in Japan associated with the country’s naval history. He also supports some of the podcast’s graphic design elements, like thumbnails, logos, and merch.

Wolf is a YouTuber with over 200,000 subscribers. As a result of his stardom, he’s the favorite of the channel’s shareholders, and he never hesitates to flex his influence. Best known for simulation games, Wolf came up on Silent Hunter 3, Cold Waters, IL-2, and DCS, but don’t let his cinematic videos fool you: he’s a well-rounded fan of strategy games, from RTS games like Gates of Hell to Warhammer and Total War. Wolf is a true gamer.
